Came into our shop extremely clean and very lightly ridden. The frame, fork, headset, seat post and saddle are all the original parts that made the cut.
Mods include:
-a nice black annodized Specialized wheelset from a Stumpjumper of the same year,
-NEW Maxxis DTH 26x2.3 Black Walls,
-a NEW Specialized 80mm Stem,
-Deity Hi Rise Esque Riser Bars,
-Oury Grips,
-Ealry 2000s Shimano LX Servo Wave V Brakes (converting from canti was a challenge because of GT's cable routing set up),
-Shimano XT Cranks
-36 tooth black narrow-wide chain ring,
-New, 11x32 7 speed Shimano cassette,
-Modern blue anno pedals,
-New KMC chain,
-New orange jagwire hosuing and cables.
A fun build that was a challenge due to the fact that I have been riding this rig and am 6'5" and even though it is a XL, the bikes we rode in the 1990s are super compact, so I probably tried five different sets of bars and stems to get this to feel and look right-ish. SIZING This bike is strictly speaking an LX but it is sized more in the Large to XL range overall (22" center of Bottom Bracket to the top of the seat tube) and will be best for a rider 5'11 to 6' 4".
